Ashland Eagles Aerie #2178

On February 6, 1898, six of Seattle's most prominent theater owners gathered to discuss how to handle an ongoing musicians' strike. According to most popular accounts, after deciding to work together to settle the strike by using piano players to replace the musicians, the men began to discuss life. At that moment, the Order of Good Things was born.

As their numbers grew, the Order chose the Bald Eagles as their official emblem and changed the name of the organization to "The Fraternal Order of Eagles”, an international non-profit organization uniting fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality, to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills and promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope. Today there are over 1500 local Aeries and 1300 local Auxiliaries in the U.S. and Canada.

"People helping people" is a statement that guides the charitable actions of Ashland Aerie #2178 and has led the Eagles to donate more than $92,000 in grants over the last three years to non-profit 501(c)3 institutions within the Ashland community including; Police, Fire & EMS, School Organizations & Youth Groups, Conservation Groups and Charitable Sporting Events to name a few. The Eagle Riders of Ashland Aerie #2178, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts, raise money through various charity events throughout the year including poker runs, charity dinners and pie auctions. The Eagle Riders have raised and donated over $9,000 to Hospice over the last three years.

Members can enjoy a drink on our outdoor patio or pavilion, fish in our 5 acre stocked lake, walk or hike around our 75 acre property or warm their hands and socialize around our fire pit.
